About the publication
“I am a pattern recognition tool” explores the dataset I would use to program an AI to achieve my visual style. This dataset includes Pinterest data, bedroom art data, and Instagram data. These three datasets offer a comprehensive visual reference to the images I consume and enjoy. My hypothesis is that these datasets will provide insight into my visual style. By analysing the prompts, the audience will see the influence and bias present in the data and reveal my worldview.

While the nuance and meaning behind these images might be lost to an outsider, a certain style or essence is communicated. Similar to existing AI image-generating programs and designers, my work will have a consistent tone echoing through it. Programming an AI with all my visual references would likely reflect the patterns and biases present in my visual communication. Just like an AI, the decision-making is black boxed.

After curating a range of images that thought captured my visual language and identity. I started to realise that it was the explanation behind the images that really held the significance to my decision making
What inspired this project?
With the rise of A.I. in the design world. Exploring the different language model machines were super interesting. A photo when generated would have an A.I. feel about it. It made me question how I could make a language machine model that created content that I would myself make.
